Meet Me On Monday........

It's time for another Meet Me on Monday linky over at Never Growing Old. This is fun getting to know our fellow bloggers.

1.  Have you ever been on a cruise?

I think this question was meant especially for me. LOL
Most of you know I've been on 2 cruises. I'm not a seasoned 'cruiser' by any means, but it only takes one to teach you the ropes.
If you want to look at my pics, visit these posts.

Grand Cayman
First Cruise (not many pics, camera died)
I still have one more post to go of pics on the ship for those who have never been on a cruise. So check back again.

2.  What is your favorite way to eat eggs?
I love a good omelet, but I also like fried eggs with good hot biscuits, or toast.

3.  What is your favorite reading material?

I just like variety. Sometimes I like to read sewing magazines, and sometimes I like a good book.  I also like devotional books.

4.  Name all of the pets that you have ever had?

As a kid, I had a cat named Lucky because he had deformed paws, but he could still defend himself.
Now there is no way I can remember all of those names. I am probably way older than most of you. LOL
We had Missy for 16 years, and just lost her so beyond that I can only remember Reggie the Yorkie.
(Edited to say my daughter reminded me below about some other pets. So please read my comments. I guess I needed to make this a family affair. LOL)

5.  Were you ever a girl/boy scout?

No, never. As a kid, I lived a long way from the school or where any of those type things met so I never got to participate. I admire Scout leaders for volunteering their time to work with kids.

How to Eat a Cupcake!!

This is according to my granddaughter, Shelby. That girl would take you down for a cupcake. When asked if she wanted purple, orange, or white, she responded, "Pour-ple!" Her favorite color.

First, see the tongue getting ready to go into action.
Next, start peeling that paper ever so carefully.
....still peeling paper......
Finally, she started on the icing!

Now notice the icing is gone, and she is finished. That girl only eats the icing, and Cayden only eats the cake, so I guess not a whole lot goes to waste. LOL
More pics to follow. PawPaw and Mimi had the honor of attending her Halloween party on Friday. It was so much fun!

Hooooooo Are You????????

NightOwlCrafting

I've missed participating in Meet Me on Monday for a couple of weeks so I thought I would participate in the Hooooo are You Linky today. If you would like to participate, go to the Night Owl Crafting page and hook yourself up.

Here are the questions:

1.  How many times a year do you get your hair cut?

I really can't say. I just go whenever it needs it or whenever it gets too unmanageable. I usually get highlights, and I get a haircut in between highlights.

2.  Where is the worst place to be stuck waiting?

Now this could be a toss up! I do remember having to wait on a scheduled surgery one time for 5 hours. That was hard since I was so hungry and thirsty. They hooked me up to the IV, and I can't even tell you how many trips I had to make to the bathroom dragging that IV before I finally got to have my surgery. That was the day they did the biopsy, and I found out I had tongue cancer. So double bummer since I couldn't even eat afterwards - well, nothing good.

 3.  What are your favorite pizza toppings?

This is easy. I love pepperoni, cheese, and purple onions with only a very light coating of tomato sauce, and in fact, I would rather have no tomato sauce.

 4. What's your favorite thing about where you live?

I live in a small town which used to be very boring and quiet. Things have picked up in our parish since the discovery of the Haynesville Shale so now our roads are heavily traveled by big salt water trucks, oil company trucks, and you just name it. So far, it has remained a pretty low crime area, and that is a big plus.
Another thing I like is that we are located right on the Louisiana/Texas border so we have a choice of shopping "across the river" where food is tax free. We don't have a grocery store here anymore anyway.

5.  What's your favorite fruit? Veggie?

My favorite fruit is watermelon. I love a variety of vegetables - especially in the summertime when fresh peas, butterbeans, squash, tomatoes, and corn are ready. I love homemade creamed corn. There is nothing better!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAY!

Finally, today you are as old as me! It has always been our joke that from June until October every year I am older than you!

We have been married 39 years, and you have been my rock, my nurse, my best friend, and the love of my life. I could have never made it without you especially the last two years.

We think so much alike that today when we left to go and keep the grands, we both came out in our Jamaica tee shirts, and neither of us had said a word about what we were wearing.

I hope today is a wonderful day with the kids, grands, and your sister, and that we get to celebrate many more birthdays together.

  I love you,
  Shirley

Last Stop - Cozumel, Mexico

This was our second time to visit Cozumel. The cruise lines have set up a nice shopping/eating area right off the pier. We went into downtown Cozumel the last time, and we hightailed it right back to this area.
It is beautifully landscaped, and where we ate was right on the beach. Just a nice relaxing day - which we needed by this time.
I love their non-alcoholic Mango Margaritas. They are so yummy!
It is a long walk down the pier, and I cheated and hired one of those guys with the bicycle cart to pedal me back. Well worth the money! LOL
If you are my friend on FB, I have more pics there. I just tried to pic some of the best ones to put here. The next post will be pics from onboard the ship.

Another ship coming in.

Grand Cayman- Georgetown

This place was gorgeous! I would love to spend a few days here. It's so well kept and clean. We took a bus tour, but wished we'd gone to the beach. The water was a little rough because we had to ride tender boats to shore as they don't have a pier for the cruise ships.
You will see the turtle farm where they breed massive sea turtles - 400-500 or more lbs.
We went to Hell - yes, you read it right. That's the name of this place. It has a very unusual rock formation that no one knows how it happened. There is spider like cactus growing over it. There were also iguanas running around in various places - some really big! We sent our kids and grands a post card from Hell! LOL
After we went to Hell, we stopped to eat at Margaritaville. I had never heard of this place. There was also one in Jamaica. This one had an indoor pool and waterslide. The food was wonderful! Look at the size of those onion rings. I ate the pasta, and it was delicious. This place was pretty wild even in the middle of the day. Let's just say I wouldn't want to be there on a Friday or Saturday night!
The water was unbelievable! Just take a look. We could see our ship from the beach where we stopped to take pictures.

It was hard getting on this boat. The waves were pretty high.
