Meet Me on Monday....

My grands are here so I don't have time to use any pictures or graphics, but I wanted to participate in Meet Me on Monday over at Never Growing Old while they are watching a movie.

1. Do you like your ice cream in a dish, waffle cone, pretzel cone, sugar cone, or cake cone?
I love waffle cones, and I get one when possible, but that doesn't happen too often. We're back on the good ole' diet.
I do have to tell a funny story. Every now and then we will make a run through Dairy Queen for a dip cone. I ordered a dip cone in a cup, which normally they just put in the ice cream and top it with the dip cone chocolate that get hard - yum! The last time I asked for a dip cone in a cup - that is exactly what I got - a dip cone sitting in a cup! Need I say more?

2. Do you read the newspaper daily?
I only read the paper on the internet.

3. Marinara or meat sauce?
  Definitely - meat sauce!

4. Last time you cried?
Actually - yesterday - missing a friend that passed away in the spring. Long story. Terry was an avid fan of the Miss America system, and the pageant was on last night. We always watch it with a group of friends - and it just wasn't the same without him.

5. What word/phrase do you find really annoying?
I could probably find several, but since I am a retired reading/Language teacher I think the one I find the most annoying is "my bad."
My principal used it in front of a class I was teaching one day, and I almost blurted out, "Seriously?"

Have a great week!

I don't believe I have ever heard that phrase "my bad". It must not be used in AR. I don't get out much though. I enjoyed your answers. I don't get waffle cones very often either but I do love them. Have a great week, Doylene

OOH yessss! I used to hate that phrase too. Fortunately I haven't heard it in a long time.

I am sorry about the loss of your friends.

My mother used to get a cone called a cowlick. It was ice cream dipped in chocolate and nuts. She'd often get it in a cup too. They always did what you are talking about. It was like an upside down ice cream cone.

Have a lovely week!

Just saying 'Hi' whilst hopping on by.
Waffle cones appear to be very popular, I have never heard of a cake cone but they sound yummy!
Please pop by and say 'Hi' too.

I will take any and all of the cones listed above! Cyber calories don't count, do they? I can close my eyes and pretend I am eating each one!
I am trying to imagine a principal, in a classroom, saying those words.....I hope the children were very young.

Ohhh! "My bad" is a good one!!! As a retired teacher, I'd be willing to bet that hearing kids say, "He gots a new XBox" is just as bad. Took my son exactly one week to pick it up when he started school and two years to finally get him to stop! Oh, and then there are those double negatives... Yeah, I'm a member of the Grammar Police, what can I say? ;)

Hi there, I love cones in a cup, but seriously...I cannot believe there was a worker who handed you yours like that straight up!!! I wonder how long he kept his job!!

And yes oh how I loathe "oops, my bad"..yes your bad speaking skills:)

I'm a new follower :-)

I'm really sorry about the loss of your friend.

That was a funny story about the ice cream -- sometimes people take things so literally. I've gone through the driveway and asked for a cheeseburger plain and they gave me a burger without even the cheese -- LOL!

Yahoo for hating "my bad"

My hubs always gets a dipped cone at DQ. I think they are just a mess to eat, but oh so good.

It seems like "my bad" is one of the most popular of annoying phrases today! Atleast for us doing Meet Me on Monday! So sorry about your friend.
